Steak Stroganoff

I am not usually a stroganoff fan, but this is one of the best recipes for stroganoff that I have come across.

  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 lb boneless beef round steak cut into strips
  • 1 (10&3/4 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1 pkg dried onion soup mix
  • 1/2 c dairy sour cream
In a small bowl, mix the first four ingredients. Place steak strips in flour mixture and toss to coat completely. In the crock pot, add cream of mushroom soup, water, and onion soup mix and mix well. Add coated steak pieces. Cover and cook on Low for 6-7 hours. Stir in sour cream and serve over cooked noodles.

Parmesan Chicken

This is one of my mother's recipes. It is one of my favorite chicken dishes and it is relatively simple. It is one of those recipes that uses ingredients that everyone happens to have in their pantry.

  • 1/4 c butter
  • 2 c crushed cornflakes
  • Chicken cut into strips (2-3 breasts)
  • Grated parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in glass baking dish. Rinse chicken in cold water. Press each piece of chicken into crushed cornflakes. Put in pan with melted butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese once more. Bake for another 20 minutes until done.

Banana Bread

This is my favorite banana bread recipe of all time! Whenever I make it, we gobble up an entire loaf in in two days!

  • 6 large bananas, very ripe
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c sugar
  • 3/4 c oil
  • 4 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour two loaf pans. Set aside. Peel bananas and place in a large mixing bowl; mix until bananas are mashed. Add eggs, sugar, and oil to the bananas and mix until well blended. In a separate bowl, mix flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. Add this mixture to the banana mixture. Mix together until the ingredients are blended. Add the nuts and mix briefly.
Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
